Heidi Emmerling Muñoz,
R.D.H., Ph.D.

I am a tenured Professor of Dental Hygiene at
my very own Dental Hygiene alma mater,
Sacramento City College. I have taught there
full time since 2007.  

Before teaching at Sacramento City College, I
taught full time lecturer for the Writing
Program at the University of California at Santa
Barbara.  I taught all levels of composition but
my main course was 109HP, Writing for Health
Professionals, a senior-level course designed to
prepare health professionals for the types of
writing they may encounter in their careers.  I
was able to do this because I have two areas
of expertise that actually work well with each
other:  a PhD in Writing and 25+ years
licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist

You might guess that writing is a passion of
mine.  As  the owner of  HEM Consulting, I
oversee  Writing Cures, a service designed to
meet the custom writing requirements of both
individuals and businesses. I enjoy empowering
people through knowledge of the writing
process.  I also strongly believe in the
therapeutic effects of writing and journaling. I
help people create and update their
professional development and marketing tools
such as resumes, CVs, and portfolios.  I have
written two books for dental hygienists to
further their professional development through
writing job search materials well.  Contact me
